NEW TRUCKWEIGHT SENSOR EXTENDS THE RANGE OF WIRELESS SCALE TO 500 FEET
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, March 16, 2006 -- TruckWeight Inc. today announced the introduction of Smart Sensor, which extends the wireless range of its Smart Scale onboard weigh scale to as much as 500 feet.
?
Designed for trucks, tractors, and trailers with air suspensions, the Smart Scale is ideal for truck owners and operators who demand fast, precise, and accurate axle weight readings. The new Smart Sensor and wireless reader allow you to take a measurement where it's convenient and safe, whether that's in the truck cab or on the loading machine.
?
Smart Sensor measures temperature and pressure changes in a vehicle's air suspension and wirelessly relays this data to a handheld receiver using a low-powered radio transmitter. A small computer in the handheld receiver interprets the information and provides an axle weight and gross vehicle weight measurement that's accurate to within 150 pounds. It produces readings once per minute, and every three seconds when the sensors detect the truck being loaded.
The result is an axle weight and gross vehicle weight measurement that's within 0.3% of the actual gross vehicle weight.
?
The new sensor enhances the Smart Scale's simplicity, convenience, and value. It uses common AA batteries for power, and the sleek new anodized-aluminum housing design makes it easy to mount anywhere on the vehicle without a mounting bracket.
?
"Smart Sensor produces a highly reliable RF signal with a line-of-site range of 500 feet," says Peter Panagapko, president of TruckWeight. "The RF signal is intrinsically safe for use around flammable or hazardous materials, which has special appeal to bulk and explosives haulers."
Smart Scale has a suggested list price of $550 US for each sensor and $490 for the handheld receiver. "You can equip a five-axle tractor-trailer combination for $1,590," Panagapko says. "Most truck operators can equip a typical tractor-trailer unit in the field in about 30 minutes. With no wires to hook up, Smart Scale eliminates the expense and downtime associated with a complicated hardwired installation as well as the maintenance concerns related to cables and electrical connections."?
The payback comes from loading with precision, efficiency, and confidence that you're in compliance when you pass over a scale.
"The person running the loader or lift-truck knows approximately how much freight to put on the vehicle. But gut-feel, air gauges, and lift-truck scales are no assurance you're operating at your maximum productivity," Panagapko says. "With its robust wireless capabilities, Smart Scale is an affordable, convenient way to put accurate weight measurements in the palm of your hand."

Doepker Makes TruckWeight Scale an Installed
Option
5/5/2006
TruckWeight Inc. says that its Smart Scale wireless scale for commercial
vehicles is available as an installed option on trailers produced
by Doepker Industries.
Based in Annaheim, Sask., Doepker Industries is a leading manufacturer
of trailers for flatdeck loads; bulk agricultural commodities; industrial
gravel; logging; and other weight-sensitive applications. Its trailers
are marketed through 27 dealership locations and sales agents in
Canada and the United States.
People who specify Doepker trailers want fast, precise, accurate
axle-weight readings in order to load efficiently and to the maximum
allowable capacity, said Peter Panagapko, president of TruckWeight.
Smart Scale measures temperature and pressure changes in a vehicle's
air suspension and wirelessly relays this data to a handheld receiver
using a low-powered radio transmitter. The result is an axle weight
and gross vehicle weight measurement that's within 0.3 percent of
the actual gross vehicle weight. The wireless reader has a range
of 500 feet line-of-sight, so it can deliver measurements to wherever
it's safe or convenient, whether that's in the truck cab or the
seat of a loading machine.
It's also a rugged solution. Wires, cables, and electrical connections
can be maintenance headaches when they're exposed to rain, snow,
ice, mud, and off-road debris. Smart Scale's waterproof, weatherproof,
shock-resistant, and non-corrosive housing requires no regular maintenance.
TRUCKWEIGHT RELEASES NEXT-GENERATION
WIRELESS ONBOARD SCALE
Smart Scale sets new standards for accuracy, simplicity,
and value
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, Sept. 1, 2005 -- TruckWeight Inc. today announced
the immediate availability of Smart Scale, the next generation of
its wireless onboard weigh scale for trucks, tractors, and trailers
with air suspensions.
Smart Scale boasts powerful new features designed to provide best-in-class
accuracy, ease of installation, affordability, and return on investment.
Smart Scale uses sensors to measure temperature and pressure changes
in a vehicle’s air suspension and wirelessly relays this data
to a handheld receiver using a low-powered radio transmitter. The
sensors produce an axle weight and gross vehicle weight measurement
that’s within 0.3% of the actual gross vehicle weight.
“Accuracy equates to improved bottom line,” said Peter
Panagapko, President of TruckWeight. “Smart Scale gives you
the ability to monitor your payload, making it even easier to be
productive and profitable. The wireless reader allows you to take
a measurement where it’s convenient and safe, whether that’s
in the truck cab or the loading machine.”
Among Smart Scale’s new features is an automated “rapid-response”
mode which provides one weight measurement every three seconds during
a 15-minute span when the sensors detect the vehicle is being loaded.
The feature meets the needs of pit and quarry operations, refuse
haulers, and others who need fast, frequent readings while loading.
During regular use, the system produces a new measurement once per
minute.
Most truck operators can equip a typical tractor-trailer unit in
the field in about 30 minutes. With no wires to hook up, Smart Scale
eliminates the cost of a complicated installation as well as the
maintenance concerns related to cables and electrical connections.
Smart Scale’s waterproof, weatherproof, shock-resistant, and
non-corrosive housing requires no regular maintenance; the sensors
use common AA batteries, which last 8 to 12 months in regular use.
“Smart Scale sets a new standard in the marketplace by delivering
the ultimate combination of accuracy, simplicity, convenience, and
value,” Panagapko said.
Smart Scale has a suggested list price of $438 US for each sensor
and $450 for the handheld receiver. Upgrades are available to customers
with existing TruckWeight wireless scales.

First Affordable Completely
Wireless Truck Scale Launched by TruckWeight.com
New technology provides accurate weight anytime,
anywhere for virtually any truck or trailer with air suspension.
Halifax, NS CANADA – February 1, 2005
– TruckWeight Inc launched a new wireless truck scale today
that provides truckers with an affordable and reliable way to
ensure their cargo is safe and legal every time they’re
on the road. Starting at just $1326.00 USD, the scale can be self-installed
in minutes, enabling drivers to know the exact weight of their
vehicle and weight per axle anytime, anywhere, with the simple
press of a button.
TruckWeight works with any vehicle or trailer with an air suspension
system. To activate TruckWeight, the user simply tees a tiny sensor
directly into the air suspension of each axle group on their truck’s
configuration – no parts, wires, or mechanical know-how
required. Once calibrated, TruckWeight sends weight information
to the handheld display, providing truckers with accurate measurements
within 150 lbs each and every time in their choice of kilos or
pounds.
“This technology makes life so much easier for truckers,”
says TruckWeight user Bob Dylan of Laser Transport of the Detroit,
MI area. “With TruckWeight, I always know exactly how much
weight I’m putting on and where while I’m loading.
I don’t have to guess anything! I always know my load is
safe, and legal, no matter how many pickups I make along the way.
It is an unbelievably simple device that saves you time, aggravation,
and money. It’s unreal. I love it.”
TruckWeight is also small, lightweight, durable, and virtually
worry-free. About the size of a can of soda, it’s waterproof,
weatherproof, shock resistant, non-corrosive, and can withstand
temperature extremes ranging from -40C to +70C (-40F to +158F).
As well, since the TruckWeight system is completely wireless,
users can measure their gross weight from either inside the cab,
or anywhere within 100 feet of the vehicle.
“Truckers have long been looking for an affordable and
simple way to solve the problems associated with overweight loads,”
said Mike Maloney, VP Marketing, TruckWeight. TruckWeight helps
them meet these challenges by eliminating costs, and putting money
back into their pockets. Not only does TruckWeight help them eliminate
overweight fines and out-of-route miles, it also helps them ensure
they get paid for every piece of cargo they pick up. It takes
the guesswork right out of the equation, and provides something
that every trucker is looking for on the road – peace of
mind
$100,000 in Financing Now Available for Qualified
Buyers
TruckWeight makes buying wireless truck scales easier
with EDC financing
Halifax, NS CANADA – February 1, 2005
– TruckWeight announced today that qualified U.S. customers
can now take advantage of up to $100,000 USD worth of financing
through its partnership with Export Development Canada (EDC).
The partnership was created to provide truckers with the funding
they need to invest in the TruckWeight Wireless Scale system,
which can help them eliminate overweight fines, maximize loads,
and ensure their cargo is safely loaded anytime, anywhere.
“The trucking business is a tough business, so having access
to this kind of financing for such a great business investment
is great news for trucking companies big and small alike,”
says Mike Maloney, VP Marketing for TruckWeight. “Without
a wireless truck scale, truckers don’t know if they’re
loaded safely and legally until they drive to a scale. And when
they’re onsite – say loading logs – they have
absolutely no way of accurately knowing what their load weighs,
and may end up hauling more or less weight which results in lost
revenue or overweight fines. This financing finally puts the power
back into the hands of truckers, providing them with an easy and
affordable way to improve both their productivity and their profit
margins. We’re extremely delighted to offer such a win-win
opportunity for today’s highwaymen.”
About TruckWeight:
